What a week!!

So here was the plan for Memorial weekend: Tim was taking a vacation day on Thursday and we were going to pack the trailer and head off for Lake Powell to enjoy the long holiday weekend. We would spend the next 5 days wakeboarding, building sand castles, roasting marshmallows, work on our tan, and most importantly RELAX!! Well, lets just say things didn't quite go as planned. After checking the weather report we realized that we were going to have to cancel our long awaited vacation. We tried to think of another place we could go, but being such short notice we just couldn't make it work. Instead of building sand castles and working on our tan, we decided to build a new patio and work on getting our backyard done. It's been a long week, and there definately hasn't been much relaxing, but I am so glad that it is done and the kids will have a nice place to play. I have to give a big THANKS to everyone who helped, especially Tim, who gave up his vacation to do manual labor!

BEFORE!! Don't you just love vegas landscaping!

Who doesn't like a wheelbarrow ride! Kamryn didn't want to get out.

The plants arrive!! It was a really windy day so this was pretty entertaining to watch them try to hold up this huge tree and not get pushed into the 5 foot hole they had dug for it.

The new patio! We had the "A Team" (as they like to call themselves) here to help. Thanks Mark, Matt, Greg, and Jeff it looks great!

We made a stone for the girls to put their handprints in. Much to my surprise, Lexi took a lot of convincing before she would stick her hands in; Kamryn loved it!

This was what it looked like about 2 hours later! Since when does it hail in Vegas at the end of May?? Luckily there wasn't much damage to the concrete.

The huge sand box! We had a load of topsoil delivered which turned out to be mostly sand, of course we couldn't keep the kids out of it. This just reminded me why I will never have a sand box, I think I will be cleaning up sand for the next month.

Our little oasis! A few finishing touches and cleaning and we are FINISHED!!!

It looks awesome. I feel really lazy now! Our yard looks like crap. Maybe You will have to send the A-team to my house!

It looks great! Isn't it such a nice feeling to have that accomplished? Hopefully your kids can enjoy it a little before the summer heat!
