Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

We have had a bit of cabin fever these days, so the first sunny day we decided to get out and take the kids to the zoo. The zoo is right on the mountainside overlooking the entire city which is quite beautiful; but makes it a bit of a hike to see all the exhibits as they wind up the mountain (normally this wouldn't be an issue, but being over 8 months pregnant made it a little more challenging!). We all had a lot of fun and the kids are already asking when they get to go back!

The giraffes were one of our favorites! More to come at the bottom of the post!

Lexi thought she could catch the peacock!

They had an antique carousel which was built in the 1920's, it was really neat and of course the kids had to ride it!

Kamryn loved feeding the birds, unfortunately we got to them later in the afternoon when they weren't very hungry

Lexi found one inside his house that came out and took a nibble

We took the tram up the mountain that goes above the entire zoo and has amazing views of the city. It got windy which was a little unsettling, but it was still fun!

The view from the top of the skyride

Kamryn loved the ride, she was smiling the whole way!

The giraffes! This one was our favorite, he came right up and would let the kids get close and pet him.

Look at that tongue! We bought some crackers to feed them, we weren't prepared for the long slimy tongues though!

Kamryn was a little timid at first, but she got right up to them once she realized they wouldn't hurt her

Those giraffes look like so much fun. You have such a cute family. I can't wait to see pics of your new baby.
